Post at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce dates from 12 February 1964. Although the company was actually already active at that point, we recognise 1964 as the year of its official founding. In those days, Hendrik Post was responsible for production in Scheemda, while his wife Zwaantje Post kept the company administration. In 1972, their son and current director Nantko Post, joined the company.<\/p>\n
During the early years, the company mainly produced calf rearing boxes and potato storage chests, with everything being made by hand. The calf boxes were also installed by the Post company on location.<\/p>\n
In 1973, the company moved to its current location in Finsterwolde (top photo). At this spot which previously housed the storage of LEGO in the Netherlands, Post installed the very first pallet production machines. Customers for the pallets included the large cardboard factories in this region, and the AVEBE potato starch factory. On purchasing our first computer in 1988, automation of the production process was soon accelerated. Even today, our own software system PALCOS (pallet control system) still makes the difference.<\/p>\n
1996 saw the strategic takeover of three other packaging companies in Venlo (bottom photo), Heinenoord and Eeklo in Belgium. After splitting the production locations in Heinenoord and Eeklo, the company took on its present form under the name PKF\/POST Pallets.<\/p>\n
